September research shows that 2022 continues to prove campers are planning to make the most of Fall with 47% of camping households making plans to get out and enjoy the changing seasons. According to KOA Monthly Research – September 2022 Edition, 33% of campers over the summer cancelled other vacation plans and replaced those with more camping trips in 2022.
Our research shows that 28.8 million are projected to camp in September, with cancellations due to raised gas prices lowering to 12% compared to summer when it was 23%. Spending time in the outdoors continues to be a resilient leisure travel option during times of economic uncertainty.
