New Construction Process

  1. Location Approval
    Request location approval via phone or writing.

  2. Complete and submit for KOA review:
    New Construction Commitment Agreement, franchise application along with submission of the $30,000 franchise fee.

  3. Property Visit
    If your application is accepted, KOA will arrange to visit your property and develop a facility design and branding plan.

  4. Execute Franchise Contract
    Congratulations, you’re the newest member of the KOA franchise family.

  5. KOA Training
    You’ll attend one of our five annual 5-day KOA-Universities.

  6. Complete the New Owner Checklist
    Complete property updates, branding and signage in preparation to open as a KOA.

  7. Open and Operate as a KOA
    You're open for business!

  8. Continue Training
    A KOA Business Development Consultant will continue to work with you on property or remotely for continued business assistance.

Important note: KOA does not purchase land, finance campground construction, or build the campground for you.
